Education & Experience

Dr. Degenhardt’s education and experience reflect his passion and commitment to delivering the best orthodontic care:

Michigan State University—Bachelor’s Degree
Columbia University College of Dental Medicine—Doctor of Dental Surgery
University of Illinois at Chicago—Master of Science and Certificate in Orthodontics

During his training, Dr. Degenhardt excelled academically, earning recognition as a Dean’s Scholar at Columbia and receiving the prestigious Fein Scholarship, awarded to the top orthodontic resident per class.

His research on obstructive sleep apnea and orthognathic surgery was nationally published, and in 2024, he was named a "Top Doc" by Hour Magazine.

Family, Fitness, & Fun

When he's not crafting confident smiles, Dr. Degenhardt enjoys spending time with his wife, Bry, and their two children, Georgia and Charlie.

They love exploring Birmingham’s parks, visiting the local farmer’s market, and enjoying outdoor activities like water sports on Lake Charlevoix and skiing at Nubs Nob.

Dr. Degenhardt also stays active through weightlifting, squash, yoga, and swimming—when he's not chasing his golden doodle, Finnegan, around the yard!

Giving Back to Birmingham & Milford

Dr. Degenhardt believes in the power of community. He is passionate about providing oral health education to local schools, clubs, and community events, as well as sponsoring and volunteering in community events such as Milford Memories. He's also proud to participate in both the Birmingham and Milford Farmer's Market.
